LifeCare helps protect your assets and estate from the ever-rising costs of skilled nursing care. As you may know, long term nursing care can cost as much as $85,000 annually in the Ocean County area. Under the LifeCare Program at Harrogate, the cost of skilled nursing care is included in your monthly service fee. For a couple, the savings could be even more significant. If only one spouse requires care in our on site Health Care Center, the spouse who does not need nursing care maintains occupancy in their lovely apartment home, the monthly fee does not change! Other communities that do not offer true LifeCare require that you pay your monthly apartment fee in addition to any skilled nursing care you or your spouse may require.
There are also distinct tax advantages associated with LifeCare. The IRS has determined that a portion of your initial entrance fee as well as a portion of your monthly service fee is considered a deductible medical expense. This is true regardless if you receive skilled nursing services, or do not receive skilled nursing services during the year from Harrogate.
Harrogate offers nine different floor plans. Apartment homes range from an efficient studio design to spacious two bedrooms, 2 baths, formal dining room and enhanced for outdoor living by two balconies or patios.

Our Executive Chef, Joe Alonzo's specialty is display cooking. Fresh, quality ingredients are arranged for open presentation and cooking in our dining room. Often times you may select from a variety of ingredients and spices that make the dishes not only innovative, but very personal as well.

Our address is Lakewood, New Jersey in beautiful Ocean County - the very heart of the Jersey Shore. We are located on the outskirts of town right at the Toms River and Bricktown borders, just 2 miles from the Garden State Parkway.
Our location is ideal - we not only enjoy being part of the "pine belt" but we are right at the doorstep of a coastal wonderland which is easily accessible from New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

Transportation: Harrogate has a fleet of four vehicles - a sedan, a mini van, and two buses. We schedule routine trips for recreation, shopping and doctor appointments, as well as having vehicles available for individual use such as a trip to a bus depot or airport. Toms River and Lakewood both have bus terminals with direct routes to New York City and we are approximately 60 miles from Newark and Philadelphia Airports and less than 50 miles from Atlantic City Airport.
